REQUIREMENTS

In order to confirm your reservation, AYC must have on file a Sailing Resume completed and signed by the person who will be skippering the yacht. San Francisco Bay can be a challenging place to sail. Summer conditions in particular can present daunting boat handling challenges, with strong afternoon winds combined with powerful currents. Therefore, for safety reasons, AYC reserves the right to make final judgments concerning the experience of the charterer, and may require a less experienced charter group to employ a professional skipper. This policy is enforced for your safety and the comfort and enjoyment of your passengers.

RESERVATIONS

Reservations can be made with Atlantis Yacht Charters by calling 415-332-0800. Reservations are on a first come first serve basis, so please give as much notice as possible. A 25% deposit is required when making your reservation and the balance is due at the time of your charter. Personal checks, cash, Visa or Master card are accepted.

CANCELLATIONS

There is no charge if cancellation is made more than 3 days prior to departure date with the exclusion of all holidays. Seven day cancellation is required for all holidays. Cancellations received with less notice will forfeit the 25% reservation deposit. There is no cancellation charge if AYC is able to re-charter the boat for the same date, or if cancellation is made due to unsafe weather conditions.

FIRST TIME CHECK-OUTS

In addition to filling out a sailing resume, all first time skippers must complete a dockside and on-the-water check out prior to the charter. The cost for this comprehensive check out is $25.00 for each boat chartered.

DEPOSIT

A refundable damage deposit of $2,000.00 is required at the time the charter agreement is signed. A separate check or credit card voucher is necessary and is refundable when the vessel is checked in and found to be in satisfactory condition.

INVENTORY

BOAT CLEAN UP & SCUFF MARKS

It is the responsibility of the charterer to clean the boat (including the sole and exterior) and to return it in the same condition, if not better, than it was received. A $50.00 cleaning charge will be billed to the charterer should the boat be returned dirty. You are responsible for any marks made to hull while docking & undocking. A minimum $75.00 charge will apply.

HEAD

As any sailor knows, the head is a little piece of equipment that can produce miserable problems. Please exercise caution and remind your guests of proper use. A blocked head is always the charterers’ responsibility.

SCHEDULES

A full day charter is from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A half day charter is available on some yachts and is from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Weekend charters begin at 6:00 PM on Friday to 6:00 PM on Sunday. Overnight charters are available on some boats.

FREQUENT SAILING PROGRAM

Seven charters on the same boat qualify the charterer to a free 8th charter. In addition, all charters on the same boat after the 7th charter will be discounted 15% from the regular rate for the rest of the calendar year. A charter sailing season runs January 1st to December 31st.

CLOTHING SUGGESTIONS

Weather on San Francisco Bay can be variable at best. It is suggested that you bring warm clothing and preferably waterproof outer gear. Flat soled, non skid shoes are necessary for your personal safety and the preservation of the boat. Please - no black soled shoes

Atlantis Yacht Charters maintains a list of U.S. Coast Guard licensed skippers for charterers who would be more comfortable with a professional aboard. Personalized lessons are also available for those who want to review their sailing skills.
